Full-Day Hiking Adventure in the High Atlas Mountains from Marrakech
Escape the hustle and bustle of Marrakech and embark on a full-day hiking adventure into the majestic High Atlas Mountains. This experience takes you deep into Berber country, where scenic landscapes, traditional villages, and genuine hospitality await.
Your journey begins with a drive to Imlil Valley, a charming village nestled at 1,740 metres above sea level, approximately 64 km (1.5 hours) from Marrakech. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks in winter, the views here are nothing short of magical.
Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, you’ll trek through Berber hamlets, winding trails, and terraced fields of corn and barley. You’ll also explore the Imnane Valley, home to small, remote settlements where Berber families continue their centuries-old way of life as farmers and herders.
Along the way, you’ll visit local homes and have the chance to learn about Berber customs and traditions, gaining a unique insight into the daily rhythms of mountain life.

Itinerary
- Day 1: Marrakech – Tahnaout – Asni – Imlil Valley 1740m – Tizi Ntamatert pass pass 2379m – Imnnane Valley and Villages - Tizi Nouguersioualpass 1900m - Ghighaya River - Marrakech
At 8h30, Depart from Marrakech towards Imlil (1740m) or Agiersioual village, the point of departure for this trek, and meet our team at 10h00 ( 1h30 drive) . Then start a walk toward Imnane Valley via the pass Tizi n’Tamaterte (2379m), panoramic views above two valleys ( Imlil Valley & Imnane Valley ), go down to the Tinghrine village where you will have lunch in a home family. After lunch, you will follow the River and cross many Berber villages with terraced culture. You will arrive at the village of Ikiss, then turn left to go through the mountain pass of Aguerssioual 1900m. You will then go down to the river. Here, you will meet your driver and drive back to Marrakech.
